What it does
Select stills in your project or timeline and Background Remover cuts their backgrounds out entirely on your machine — the AI runs on-device, so nothing is uploaded, there are no credits to buy, and processing a hundred images costs the same as one. The first run downloads the AI model once (~95 MB); after that it works fully offline, forever.
Each result shows in a before/after compare slider so you can check the cutout, then import it as a new transparent PNG or replace the original in place — every instance on your timeline updates while the file on disk stays untouched. Need only part of the image cut out? Drag a marquee and just that region is processed.

Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The AI runs entirely on your machine. After the one-time model download it works with the internet off — client-confidential material never leaves your computer.
Is there a limit or per-image cost?
No. Because it's on-device there are no credits — batch a whole shoot if you want. It's part of the Creator plan.
What does “replace original” do to my file?
Your file on disk is never touched. PrimCut points the project item at the new transparent PNG, so every place you've used that image on the timeline updates at once.
Why does it need Premiere Pro 2025+?
The on-device AI uses a modern engine that Premiere's built-in browser only supports from the 2025 release. The panel checks up front and tells you clearly instead of failing halfway.
