What it does
Silence Cutter scans your selected clips for dead air and shows you every cut before anything happens: the waveform lights up with the ranges it found, a live readout counts the cuts and the time you'll save, and a Play Preview button auditions the tightened edit with the silences skipped — at up to 5× speed. Drag the threshold line, tweak the padding, and the detection updates instantly.
When it looks right, apply. Choose to remove the silences or just mute them, cut audio only or audio + video, and let PrimCut keep a backup of your original sequence automatically. Everything runs on your machine — nothing is uploaded, and no API key is needed.

How to use it
Select your clips
Drop your talking-head footage on the timeline and select the clips (or the whole sequence) you want cleaned.
Pick a speed mode
Normal, Fast, or ⚡ SUPER Fast — the panel analyzes immediately and shows what it found.
Tune the detection
Drag the threshold line on the waveform, pick Hard / Balanced / Smooth, and set padding so words never clip. Detection updates live.
Play the preview
Audition the tightened cut with silences skipped — at up to 5× — before a single frame changes.
Apply
One pass removes (or mutes) every silence, with your original sequence kept as a backup.

Does Silence Cutter upload my footage?
No. Detection and cutting run entirely on your machine — no uploads, no API key, no account. It works with the internet off.
What if it cuts off a word?
You'll almost always catch it in the preview first — that's what it's for. Padding keeps a safety margin around speech, breath-smart detection distinguishes mouth noise from real quick words, and your original sequence is backed up automatically, so nothing is ever lost.
How fast is it on a long video?
Analysis takes seconds even on long timelines. Applying is the usual bottleneck in Premiere — that's what ⚡ SUPER Fast mode is for: 1,000+ cuts land in seconds instead of minutes.
Can it mute instead of deleting?
Yes. Choose Remove or Mute, and apply to audio only or audio + video — muting keeps your timeline length and timing untouched.
